HOOKAH SETUP GUIDE - BOWL PACKING GUIDE
Hookah sessions ultimately depend on the condition of the bowl pack. For hookah sessions like the Hookah Masters, follow our Bowl Packing Guide. Results: long lasting bowls, thick smoke, and efficient use of tobacco.

Hoohah Masters Bowl Pack

First hookah sessions of the day: Bowl pack, aluminum cover, holes, air tight connection

Tobacco and Pack

Step 1:
  • Select your tobacco you wish to smoke.
Step 2:
  • Place bowl on level surface so it will not fall over.
Step 3:
  • Break up the peices of tobacco and drop or place in the hookah bowl.
Step 4:
  • Compact the tobacco by pressing the tobacco towards the bottom and the sides of the bowl.
  • Do not push down too much, as air intake and ventilation will be constricted and difficult.
  • Do not pack the bowl to loosely either, as too much air and ventilation will not produce the thickest smoke.
  • Tobacco should be packed inside the bowl but at a level low enough so that the tobacco will not stick to the aluminum foil cover (see next step).

Aluminum cover

Step 5:

  • Tear a peice of aluminum foil about 3-4 inches wide and the full length off the role.
  • Tear this peice in half forming two 3-4 inches x 3-4 inches squares of aluminum forming.
  • Next, lay one square on top of the other square and place on top of the hookah bowl.
  • Use one hand to pull the alumunium foil tight, and use the other hand to mold the aluminum foil tightly to the hookah bowl.

Hookah Masters tip: Always use both peices of aluminum foil to cover the bowl, so the coal does not burn the tobacco at too high of heat. Results are longer lasting, thicker smoke, better tasting hookah sessions. For optimimum results, use Reynolds Wrap regular aluminum foil, not heavy duty. If heavy duty is your only option, still use 2 layers.

Hookah Masters tip: The aluminum cover should be wrinkle free on top. Bumps and wrinkles will displace heat from the bowl surface, causing the smoke to decrease in thickness.

Holes
Step 6:
  • Puncture the alumnimum foil, using a ball point point, 5 to 7 times in a circle shape with 1 whole in the middle.
  • Depending on the size of the bowl, spread out the holes equally to create good pull, even heat distribution, and thick shisha smoke.

Air tight Connection
Step 7:
  • Place the packed bowl over the paper towel (see Hookah Setup Guide) at the top of the hookah.
  • Press down tightly creating airtight fit.

Step 8: Ligh the charcoal.

Second hookah sessions and beyond (in a single sitting):

Charcoal removal

Step 9:

  • CAUTION: Carefully remove the coal and ashe from the bowl onto the hookah tray. Do NOT throw the coal in the garbage until completely burned out.
  • CAUTION: Remove the bowl from the hookah pipe, but be careful becaue the bowl will be EXTREMELY HOT!

Hookah Masters Alternative: Exercise caution. Carefully loosen the bowl from the pipe. Remove the hookah bowl with the charcoal still on the bowl. Bring the bowl to the nearest toilet, flush, then drop the coal in the toilet. Sparks may distribute, so stand back.

Foil removal
Step 10:
  • CAUTION: Remove the aluminum foil cover from the bowl.
  • Remove the burned tobacco with the hookah tongs and place a heat resistant vessle. Allow tobacco to cool before throwing into garbage.

Hookah Masters "Green" tip: Carefully remove the aluminum cover so you can reuse the cover for your next hookah session.

Cool bowl down
Step 11:
  • Rinse bowl off with cool/cold water until cool to touch.
  • Dry bowl with paper towel.

Hookah Masters Eco Friendly tip: use the paper towel to dry your hands after cooling down the bowl, and clean your hands with the same paper towel after you pack the nargile (tobacco).

Repack the bowl

Step 12:

Hookah Masters "Green" tip: reuse the aluminum foil used to cover the first bowl to help the environment. Be careful to remove any burned tobacco sticking to the foil beefore covering second bowl..
